| Fields of Wildflowers (Cosmos - Bidens formosa) - (New Image Added) |
|
The magical winter displays of Cosmos (Bidens formosa) which bloom en masse across South Africa. Cosmos is a declared weed of crops and roadsides in South Africa and originates from Central America and the West Indies. Cosmos is now so widespread that eradication is practically impossible. Each plant can produce hundreds of seeds most of which is extremely viable and will germinate with the greatest of ease. Regardless of the declared weed status, the spectacle of a field of Cosmos is quite breathtaking. Click here to go to the South Africa Landscape Photography Gallery.
